ChristLife: Catholic Mission Of Evangelization December 2004 Dear Friend, Our prayers have been answered powerfully answered. Today, more than any other time in our history, Americans are hungry for Christ. Our nation is looking for answers in these confusing and frightening times. Visions of war and terror fill our minds as some of us struggle to make ends meet in times of great financial uncertainty. People are looking for answers. They are looking for security and peace. They are looking for a way of life that makes sense. Just this past year, multitudes flocked to witness Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ. Why? They are looking for "the way, the truth and the life" (John 14:6). They are looking for Jesus Christ. Today, you and I have a tremendous opportunity to share Christ with them. ChristLife’s mission for more than 10 years has been to help Catholics share Christ with others. Our ministry as a Catholic apostolate has personally impacted more than 40,000 people. Some have been introduced to Jesus for the first time; others have had their Christian faith strengthened and renewed. Leaders have been trained to implement practical ways to carry out the essential mission of our Church, sharing Christ with others, in their parishes, dioceses, and faith communities. Catholics have been requesting help to learn how to personally communicate how their faith has changed their lives. They want to invite others into a life in Christ and His Church. In response to this demand, ChristLife created a training course, called Sharing Christ, just for those people who want to share the gospel personally. Those that have been trained to date are eager to put into practice what they have learned. But we reach only those who attend Sharing Christ in person. Over the past several months, we have been praying that God will multiply our efforts to reach and to assist more people. Out of nowhere, a very generous benefactor stepped up and offered to completely produce a video-based version of this course so that we could begin to distribute it in parishes throughout North America. We took this as our sign to act boldly and quickly to reach those who need this course. We turn to you and ask you to make a gift that will have an eternal impact For just two dollars a day, you can provide twenty people with the resources, training and support they need to learn how to share Christ with others. We seek the funds needed to train 300 leaders by Pentecost who will be equipped with all that is needed to implement the Sharing Christ course in their own dioceses, parishes and faith communities. We will provide each leader that we train with a kit complete with video resources, leaders manual, study guides, campaign materials, and the support he or she needs to offer Sharing Christ for at least 20 people in 2005. Think of it, that could mean 6,000 Catholic evangelists spreading the Good News of salvation next year, six thousand Catholics reaching out and sharing Christ in a nation that hungers so desperately for His Peace! A pledge of two dollars a day on a monthly basis for one full year will provide the resources we need to train one leader next year and equip him or her with all that is needed to reach twenty others who desire to learn how they can best share Christ with others. To thank you for generously supporting this critical mission, and for making a pledge in this amount or higher, we will send you the gift of one of ChristLife’s most enjoyed video series, Catholics Listening to God, with Bishop Mark Coleridge of Melbourne, Australia. The messages on each of the seven tapes in this series profoundly touch the Catholic heart. I ask you to please pray that our efforts will sow the seed of the Gospel farther than we could ask or imagine. Please help us distribute Sharing Christ throughout America. We need your help today. Thank you in advance for your support. May God bless you and yours in a special way during
Who We Are ChristLife is an apostolate of the Archdiocese of Baltimore that is responding to Jesus' call to, "Go and make disciples of all nations," and to the Church's call to a new evangelization "It appears that there are only a few Catholic ministries actually developing the means for Catholics to respond to the urgent call for a new evangelization and mission to the nations, and so I am especially grateful for this service."
