Catholic Evangelization Solutions November 2003 Dear Brothers and Sisters, Proclaiming Christ and sharing the Gospel changes lives! [When I came to St. Anne's]I had no intention of being converted to Christianity. I did not believe in God and was not sure I ever could. I had never been baptized, received any religious education or attended church more than a handful of times in my life wrote Julia Mallowney. Among Catholics who have been educated in the faith some struggle with the perceived impersonal dimension of being Catholic. Shannon Barrett, a 24-year old young adult, recently stated, "After 19 years of Catholic education, it never occurred to me that having a personal relationship with Jesus was part of being a Catholic." Like Julia and Shannon, many men and women in our country have little or no experience with the Church or understanding of the love of God through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. For some, belonging to a church is merely a cultural practice. There is HOPE! Catholics can make a difference! Julia found the optimism of Christianity to be contagious and powerful enough to challenge her own beliefs. She completed RCIA and is a full member of the Catholic Church. As a missionary apostolate, ChristLife is dedicated to this sole purpose: "To serve man by revealing to him the love of God made manifest in Jesus Christ." We cannot accomplish this mission alone! Please help us as a Missionary Partner and support the missionary activity of ChristLife. Jesus wants Catholic men and women who have the desire to reach their friends and family who are not in the Church. Our world needs parishes and individuals who are willing to be trained to make Christ known to those who are desperate for the Good News of salvation in Christ. Our call to "Go and make disciples
" compels us to seek to employ Catholic men and women as missionaries who have the potential to transform their parish into an Evangelizing Eucharistic Community. ChristLife wants to do more than educate Catholics through training events. We want to do more than provide a program for evangelization. We want to raise up an army of Catholics who are empowered and equipped to proclaim the Gospel and draw others into the sacramental life of the Church. "The world is calling for evangelizers to speak to it of a God whom the evangelizers themselves should know and be familiar with as if they could see the invisible." Pope Paul VI, Evangelii Nuntiandi, 76 During the past 12 months, ChristLife has trained more than 650 Catholics who are now actively engaged in the mission of evangelization. By giving a monthly contribution or increasing your donation, we will be able to expand our outreach and bring the saving truth of Jesus Christ and His Church to even greater numbers of people. Msgr. Heras writes in a recent article, "I didn't realize how much people didn't know, how much they weren't experiencing
Our people have fallen in love. They're in love with the person of Jesus and his Holy Spirit as the gift of the Father." "A passionate love for Christ is the secret of a convinced proclamation of Christ." Catholics who are trained to share their faith with confidence and effectiveness have significant impact among their friends and families as well as in their neighborhood community. You can participate in this exciting adventure as a Missionary Partner with ChristLife. Please consider offering your prayers and a monthly gift to expand the kingdom of God. As missionaries, ChristLife relies on the generosity of faithful contributors to advance the mission of evangelization. Please help us to equip and to empower ordinary Catholics to become missionaries in the context of daily activity by supporting the ministry of ChristLife. Give the life-saving gift of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as a Missionary Partner with ChristLife. Together we can impact our world as we empower Catholics to communicate their faith by their witness and their word. Your brother in Jesus, Upcoming Events
"It appears that there are only a few Catholic ministries actually developing the means for Catholics to respond to the urgent call for a new evangelization and mission to the nations, and so I am especially grateful for this service." William Cardinal Keeler
