--January 27, 2010 Dear Brothers and sisters, We had a wonderful Mass of Thanksgiving and time of fellowship on Sunday January 17th. Around 100 people joined in the celebration. Check out pictures from the event! The readings for that Sunday were very encouraging for us personally. In the first reading from Isaiah 62:1-5 The Lord says we shall not be called Forsaken or Desolate, but rather He himself says we are his delight and that he rejoices over us! What a wonderful truth to know in our hearts that the Father calls us his delight! Psalm 96 was the responsorial song. “Proclaim his marvelous deeds to all the nations!” Oh, how we want everyone to know the love of our Father in Jesus the Lord! The Second reading was Paul’s teaching on the spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians 12. We here at ChristLife have felt the Lord calling us to a renewed and empowered use of the Spirit’s gifts to confirm the truth of the Lord’s good news. And finally the Gospel was the wedding feast at Cana. Fr. Erik shared during the homily how like the water being changed into wine, the Lord has taken the simple weak folks we are in ChristLife and done wonderful things to help others come to know God’s love. After the Eucharist several people shared their senses of the Lord’s words for us, calling us to know He delights in ChristLife. That he is calling us to be a community of brothers and sisters advancing his wonderful good news together. I have to say that more and more we are seeing the reality of being a community of mission with many of you! Another deeply encouraging word for us was that the great fruit we are seeing is only the surface of what he is doing and that there much more that is hidden. I had the chance to share at the end of Mass our gratitude to God for the privilege of serving 14 years in full time service. What a glorious opportunity he has provided us. And for me to have such good brothers and sisters whom I get to serve with on staff! I also shared the great blessing of the support we receive from you, our brothers and sisters, on so many levels. Your support in financial donations, prayer support and loving personal support. I and we could not do what we are doing without your love and service. I mean it! We receive such incredible personal support to live for Christ our Lord. For which we are indebted to you! The Lord has taken us as weak, sinful men and women and granted us the privilege of knowing his faithfulness and love and of being called to equip others to tell of the love of our Father! His power is made perfect in our weakness. May He be pleased and glorified. We believe that the Lord is going to increase our financial provisions this year. As usual we are currently month-to-month and still owe money for the video production, but we are pressing into prayer asking the Father for a release of greater financial provision for the sake of advancing the mission. Please pray for this and consider how can you partner with us to advance the Gospel. By the way, in less than 24 hours since registration opened, over 248 people have already signed up for our Discovering Christ course to be held this February 15th at St Louis Parish in Clarksville, MD! (we are maxed out) We have the training for the leaders this Saturday. Please pray! This is incredible and needs your support. Thanks for standing with us in the wonderful mission of making Jesus known and loved, Dave
