God the Father loves you!

When you have a chance to put on hold any busyness that you are involved with, a time when you can quiet down and open up to God and receive, I have something wonderful to share with you!

It's a video of a song that communicates in word and Spirit the love God has for you personally. The song is, How He loves us! and is sung by Kim Walker in the context of a worship time at a conference.

I first heard this song when we posted a video called, Cardboard testimonies. Subsequently I listened to the testimony of the author of the song, John Mark McMilan - quite an incredible testimony of love inspired the song.

Fr. Arnold used this video at the end of his teaching during our Discovering Christ retreat day recently, and I simply got undone with the Father's love for us, for me personally, as I watched and listened! That is how the good news works you know. We experience good news and want all of our friends to know about it!

We all need reminders of our Father's love which is the foundation of our life and identity! Oh how he loves us!

"Holy Spirit come and reveal the Father's love in great power as my friends listen to this song, in the name of the Lord Jesus we pray, Amen!

This is one of my current favorite songs. I have wept to it. If we only understood more deeply in our souls how much God really does love us and how insanely good His heart genuinely is toward us. I think it would make a world of difference.

I've read recently a line that someone wrote that says "God only brings good news." What do you think of that?

Sure there are prophesies of judgement but it would seem that even in those the heart of God is always that we would repent and receive everything good that he has for us. "I take no pleasure, says the Lord, in the death of the wicked." Its like He's saying "What good does that do me? What joy could I possibly get from my children suffering because they choose to slam themselves against the rocks and continually defy every good option I present them?" Instead He "wants all men to be saved" and to forever enjoy His unfailing love and generosity toward us in the beauty and majesty of the coming Kingdom!

Do you really believe that God only brings good news? That His plans for you are only good? That walking closely with Him will link you up to the best possible life for yourself? I know I struggle to fully believe these things deep down in my core operating system but I am allowing God to slowly reprogram me. And so I am beginning to honestly believe this amazing reality of an amazingly good God who actually loves me. And loves more than I can even know or imagine.

Thank you Jesus, for loving me that way and that much. For being my Hero and winning my freedom through your work on the cross. For inspiring hope by defeating death in your resurrection and making it final by ascending to the Father's side.

I would highly recommend both of JMM's albums but the new one "The Song Inside the Sounds of Breaking Down" is definitely an improvement from the first one in many ways. (Although I love the first album too.) This performance by Kim Walker was good also. Thanks ChristLife!

This is such an awesome blog, I totally agree Chip how necessary it is to more deeply understand the love of God for us personally!

I was actually reflecting on that recently because someone said to me the other day, "God really spoils you!" I thought about it, and it's so true, He's an unbelievably loving father who totally delights in lavishing blessing upon blessing on His children!

It says somewhere in the psalms, "Every good and perfect gift comes from You!" Yet Many times we don't realize what Chip said, that "God only brings good news!" I think sometimes we are so afraid of what Jesus might ask of us that we won't even let Him tell us that He loves us. We fear more than we love! I know I've been struggling with that lately.

A priest said to me the other day, "Jesus is looking down at you from the cross saying, 'what more do I have to do to prove to you that I am not your enemy?'" The only enemy to our happiness and peace is our attachment to sin, and every suffering God allows is only to break us of these attachments!

Sometimes I hold so tightly to the passing attachments of this world that I'm not free to recieve all God has for me. A quote that has really helped me about this is, "Anything less than EVERYTHING for the Crucified Lord is NOT ENOUGH!" Why do we hold back parts of our lives from Him? When He gave us His life, He gave it all!

He only wants our lives so He can set them free and fill them with His blessings! He has only good plans!

Thanks Chip and ChristLife for your insights, this is something I am trying to understand more!

wow, thank Christy and Chip for the reflections! Amen!

This song "How He Loves Us" is the song my bride, Ally, walked down the aisle to.

Must say that was one of the most intense (or was) moments of my life... Realizing God's incredible love... As I stepped into the sacrament of His incredible love.

Finally, I'm listening to Kim's worship CD "here is my song" - check it out at http://www.kimwalkermusic.com Its very powerful!

Dear David Nodar, I watched the EWTN Show yesterday, the discussion was "Why you are in Church? My answer is this: As a catholic and in church I knew that being there was God's house. It meant he loved me and I loved him and was learning who he was. That happened in my 40's when he made himself known to me through the Bible. I started reading, he comes in his word to us. The day he literally touched" my heart with his hand, I will never be the same and from that day on until right now I still feel that touch. I pray directly to him as "me".. and for others that don't know him, my children, my family, all "not saved" ..my trust in him is strong and I found being a Catholic is a wonderful gift. I teach my grandchildren and try to show my family what it means to know Christ. It is not easy, but sometimes I see things in my family that let me know that God hears my prayers and its just little things that when we are quiet .. he is speaking. That touch of his hand in my body, he tapped and patted my heart as I sat on my couch one morning on my way to work, I will never be the same, but I know that I know he is as close as a thought. So in church I see why I am there. I wish others did, for so many do not know why they are there. Many times I wanted to stand up and tell them many times. Sometimes for no reason at all tears come. from one eye and the feeling in side is that Touch I recall. for the rest of my days I will tell this to those who can understand what it means to know God.I am so very grateful for his death gave me life. I surrendered my life that day he touched me . I wanted to know him. SO with that he showed me he is there. what a wonderful gift. I am forever grateful./ janis
