missional living

I bumped into this 4 minute video today on "missional living." Its one of the core values of an evangelical church called The Village Church. The pastor in the video gives a really encouraging and challenging call to intentionally living life (wherever you are and whatever you do in your vocation) with the understanding that God has specially created you with a purpose to reach the people around you.
It is the same message we give in our Sharing Christ program, in the last session- "Missionaries: Anytime, Anywhere."

So what do you think? Any examples of you seeing God use you in your unique circumstances?

An example in my life. I work full-time in ministry AND I like to brew beer (5 gal once a year). I'm presently making Irish Stout :)

So, about a year ago I was stopping by my local liquor store to pick up some beer and happened to strike a convo about the irony of me a Christian ministry guy brewing beer... Well, sure enough, the lady at the counter was a Catholic who had stopped practicing and she noted with irony that the owner of the liquor store was Christian too!

So we talked for awhile and I got to ask her about her faith and why she stopped practicing...

Fast forward several months, I'm at a local parish for confirmation and sure enough the lady at the counter is sitting right in front of my wife and I.

It turns out her daughter or some close relative was getting confirmed and there she was supporting her at the mass... I ended up reintroducing myself and we said our goodbyes!

So, its pretty cool how God can uniquely position us to touch others lives (through beer of all things!)
